Becky Lynch and her brother, both were fan of professional wrestling and used to watch it in their childhood. Horse riding, swimming and basketball were also her interest and she involved in all such games. In her early life, she studied philosophy, history and politics which she didn’t liked and dropped out. Afterwards she studied health and exercise studies by returning to college. She studied in Dublin Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in acting. Her interest in acting was keen so she attended the Gaiety School of Acting and Columbia College Chicago.

Career in Professional Wrestling

In June 2002, Becky Lynch with her brother began to training in wrestling school in Ireland which was opened by Finn Balor (Fergal Devitt) and Paul Tracey in her teenage. On November 2002, Becky made her debut in professional wrestling, using the ring name Rebecca Knox. In her early wrestling career she and her brother fought teaming in a mixed tag team matches. At British professional wrestling promotion NWA UK Hammerlock, Becky got training. In NWA Ireland show at Dublin, Becky lost to English wrestler Eden Black. On 4th June 2006 at FSF show in Chouilly, Becky defeated Saraya and became the World Queens of Chaos Champion.

She played different professional wrestling such as One Pro Wrestling where she defeated Emil Sitoci and Robbie Mireno for International Wrestling Zone promotion. Becky got injured above her eye due to which she received stitches, suffered from headaches, vision problems, loud buzzing in her left ear and which also damaged her eighth cranial nerve. On 26th September 2006 this injury took place in a fight between Finnish Wrestler Kisu at German Stampede Wrestling. She stated that she did not believe that wrestling was the correct career choice for her at that time. On 26th March 2011, she returned to shimmer as the manager of the real life mother-daughter tag team of Saraya and Britani Knight.

Career of Becky Lynch in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)

On April 2013, Becky signed a two-year developmental deal with WWE and she entered in NXT development territory of WWE. Becky made her debut defeating Summer Rae on 26th June 2014. She made her WWE Raw debut on 13th July 2015 along with Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Stephanie McMahon introduced “revolution” in the WWE Divas division in which Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Paige lead against Bella Twins and Alicia Fox while the third team of Sasha Bank, Naomi and Tamina are also looked strong. Becky debuted with a win against Brie Bella. On 23rd August at SummerSlam, the team PCB (Paige, Charlotte, Becky) won by Becky pinning Brie.

At Royal Rumble, Becky challenged Charlotte for Divas Championship but lost due to interference of Ric Flair, father of Charlotte. Becky was the first woman who was drafted to SmackDown brand on 2016. In her first match she defeated Natalya. She won a six-pack elimination challenge at Backlash on 11th September 2016 and become the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion. She lost against Alexa Bliss ending her reign at 84 days on 4th December 2016 at TLC – Tables, Ladders and Chairs. On 16th September 2018 at Hell in a Cell, Becky won the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the second time in her career.

Becky lost her title to Asuka on 16th December 2018 at TLC (Tables Ladders and Chairs) in a first ever women’s TLC match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka due to interference of Ronda Rousey. On 27th January 2019 at Royal Rumble, Becky lost a WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Asuka but later she entered a 30 women’s Royal Rumble match replacing injured Lana. She won the 2019 Royal Rumble match.

At WrestleMania 35, Becky defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a first ever women’s main event at WrestleMania and became the only women to win both Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship at a same time. She pinned Rousey which was a controversial win as Rousey’s Shoulder were not on ground for the 3rd count. On 19th May at Money in the Bank, Becky defeated Lacey Evans for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. But she lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte in the following match due to interference of Lacey Evans.
